
“Clarityn Allergy Syrup is a mixed berry flavored medicine suitable for children suffering from hay fever or other allergies. This sugar-free liquid suspension contains the antihistamine loratadine, providing 24-hour relief from sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and hives (nettle rash). This medicine is not suitable for children under the age of 2.
What is the recommended dosage:-Clarityn Allergy Syrup can be taken with or without food. The recommended dosage depends on your child’s body weight – use the table below for reference.
Age: Children of 2 to 12 years who weigh 30kg (4st 7lb) or less

How does loratadine relieve hay fever symptoms:-The active ingredient in Clarityn Allergy Syrup is loratadine (1mg/ml). Loratadine is an antihistamine, a type of medicine that blocks the effects of a substance called ‘histamine’ that is released by the body during an allergic reaction. By blocking this substance, the symptoms of hay fever can be relieved and prevented.
What are the symptoms of hay fever:-The symptoms of hay fever can be similar to that of a common cold. If your child is suffering from the following symptoms at around the same time every year (usually during the spring or summer), they may be suffering from hayfever:
Sneezing
Itchy nose and/or throat
Nasal congestion
Runny nose
Coughing
When should Clarityn Allergy Syrup not be used:-You should not use Clarityn Allergy Syrup if you are allergic to loratadine or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. You should not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Clarityn Allergy Syrup if you have liver disease or if you’re scheduled to have any skin tests for allergies. Do not take Clarityn Allergy Syrup for two days before having these tests, as it may affect the test results.
If you have an intolerance to some sugars, including hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI), speak to your doctor before taking this medicine.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist before taking Clarityn Allergy Syrup if you are taking any other medicines or herbal remedies, including those obtained without a prescription.
Are there any side effects: Like all medicines, Clarityn Allergy Syrup could cause side effects, but these are usually mild and won’t affect everyone. Common side effects include:
Drowsiness
Headache
Increased appetite
Difficulty sleeping
Nervousness
Tiredness

Storage information
Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Use within 1 month of opening.”
