Hair Loss

Hair loss is usually nothing to worry about. We lose between 50-100 hairs daily. However, if you are noticing hair loss more than normal, it can be a sign of a medical condition.

Causes of Hair Loss:

Some hair loss can be hereditary, like male and female pattern baldness. Other types of noticeable hair loss can be caused by:

  • Iron deficiency
  • Weight loss
  • High stress levels
  • Cancer treatment
  • Post-partum hair loss

If you are experiencing sudden hair loss, more than normal, speak to your local Day Lewis pharmacist. We have consultation rooms available for privacy. Alternatively, you can also visit your GP. If you are experiencing any of the below, we recommend seeking medical help:

  • Round, bald patches
  • Sudden hair loss
  • Losing clumps of hair
  • Experiencing itching and burning of the scalp

Hair loss experienced by a medical condition, should grow back once you have recovered.

Hair Loss Treatment:

Whilst most hair loss doesn’t require treatment, if your hair loss is causing you distress then there are private hair loss treatments available.

Hair loss prescriptions are available at Day Lewis Pharmacy. Contact our team of healthcare professionals to find out more.
